Triplet Falls

Updated: Jun 30

Triplet Falls

Triplet Falls is a lovely three-segment waterfall in The Great Otway National Park. It is located in a beautiful fern-filled gully along Youngs Creek, surrounded by towering mountain ash and myrtle beech forest.

The meandering downhill track brings you to a lovely viewing platform with a good view of the falls. Then, you wander back to the carpark past some interesting old mining relics.

The Walk -2 kilometres - 1 Hour - Moderate

This walk starts at the Triplet Falls carpark, and you wander down many steps through the stunning forest. There are also many information boards along the tracks with exciting facts about the area.

The track then flattens out for a while before you continue along the metal boardwalk under the towering Mountain Ash trees; some of these trees are estimated to be over 300 years old.

There are several viewing platforms for Triplet Falls, and ferns and trees obscure some views. However, the last viewing platform has the best views; you can see all three cascades.

The track then continues in a circuit back to the carpark, up another series of steep steps. Along this track, you will see the relics from the mining days, including an old steam boiler and bogie with wooden boards. From the last viewing platform, it only takes 20 minutes to get to the carpark.
