Trentham Falls
Trentham Falls is located in the Coliban River Scenic Reserve, also known as Trentham Falls Scenic Reserve. It is one of Victoria's longest single-drop waterfalls, cascading 32 metres over ancient basalt columns.
Coliban River Scenic Reserve covers 24 hectares and contains more than 80 indigenous plants, including manna gums, stringy bark, messmate, narrow-leaved peppermint and lovely spring wildflowers.
It also has some of the largest eucalyptus trees remaining in the area. These magnificent trees are home to many nocturnal mammals and a wide range of birds.
The Walk - 140 metres return - 5 minutes - Grade 1
The walk to the Trentham Falls lookout starts at the carpark and takes you down a short 70-metre path, with a few steps to the viewing area.
You will see an information board at the beginning of the viewing area, which explains the geology of Trentham Falls. The viewing area is fenced and is quite large, so you can safely enjoy lovely views of the falls, which is excellent as this waterfall is very popular.
Trentham Falls are best viewed in winter, spring or after significant rainfall in the local area.
Notes:
Medium-sized carpark can get very busy.
Picnic tables are available.
No toilets.
The track to the base of the falls is closed as it is unsafe.
