Top 5 Sunshine Coast Waterfalls ~ Queensland
The Sunshine Coast is renowned for its pristine beaches and coastal lifestyle, but it also has some beautiful waterfalls hidden away in the hinterland. The best time to see the waterfalls is during the wet season, from January to March.
Kondalilla Falls in the Kondallilla National Park is an 80-metre waterfall where Skene Creek drops dramatically over the cliff to the rainforest valley below.
To see Kondalilla Falls from the viewing platform, it is a 1.7-kilometre walk, and you will pass Picnic Creek Falls, a lovely little waterfall, and the Rockpools, where you can swim. There is also a longer circuit walk (4.7 kilometres), which brings you past the base of the falls.
Buderim Falls, also called Serenity Falls, is located in the Buderim Forest, a 45-hectare secluded oasis on the northern side of Buderim. Wander along the 600-metre circuit walk from the upper Quorn Close entry to Serenity Bridge and Buderim Falls.
Buderim Falls is formed where Martins Creek cascades 10 metres over the rocky ledge into the large waterhole below; it flows all year round but is particularly impressive after heavy rainfall in the area.
Gardners Falls is a lovely waterfall located near Maleny in the Hinterland. Lush natural forests surround the easy 300-metre walking track, bringing you to two small waterfalls and waterholes along the Obi Obi Creek.
There are several places you can swim, and the largest water hole is quite deep and is a popular swimming spot for locals and visitors alike.
Baxter Falls is a 22-metre waterfall that flows over the rocks into a deep pool below. It is part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk in the Kondalilla National Park.
We hiked from the Northern entrance, which starts near Suses Pocket Road near Mapleton. It is a moderate four 4-kilometre return hike with a suspension bridge just before the falls.
You will discover Robinson Falls along a short 1-kilometre bushwalk in Cilento Park in Nambour. Cilento Park has a lovely grassy area, a small playground, toilets and picnic tables.
Robinson Falls is a twin waterfall formed where Tuckers Creek cascades over the rocks into a waterhole below.
