The Original Eumundi Markets ~ Queensland

The Original Eumundi Markets is Australia's biggest and best artisan market. It offers delicious food, fantastic live entertainment, and a vibrant atmosphere in the heart of the historic village of Eumundi in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

Market days are Saturdays from 7.00 am to 2.00 pm and Wednesdays from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm. The lively and colourful Eumundi Markets is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the Sunshine Coast.

On our recent visit to the Original Eumundi Markets, we wandered around soaking up the atmosphere and then made a candle at the Make Your Own Candle stall. We ate some delicious food, admired the artwork around the market grounds and enjoyed listening to Ben Ross sing and play guitar.

The Original Eumundi Markets Motto is “Make it - Bake it - Sew it - Grow it”, and as you wander around, you will see a huge range of locally made artworks, jewellery, fashion, woodwork, homewares and unique artisan-made gifts and treasures.

At the Make Your Own Candle stall, we created our own candles; this is a fun activity for the whole family. You choose the candle size you want to make, then add the brightly coloured wax particles to your jar to create a lovely pattern. Then, pop the lid on to take home. There are many different colours to choose from, and they smell amazing.

Picnic Lane is located on the top terraces at the Original Eumundi Markets and features locally grown produce, fresh flowers and other locally made items. They also have talented musicians and more fantastic artisan market stalls.

We found a table and seats in the main stage area and enjoyed listening to Ben Ross singing and playing his guitar.

Ben is a talented singer and guitarist who sings blues and country rock with a hint of coastal chill.

The Original Eumundi Market started in 1979 with three stalls and eight customers. By 1990, it had grown to 203 stalls and 260,000 customers. Now, this vibrant and iconic market has over 600 stalls with more than one million visitors every year.
