The Balconies
The Balconies are two rocky ledges that overhang the cliffs, 700 metres above sea level, located in The Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park. It's an easy, short walk from Reeds Lookout to The Balconies.
The Grampians are five stunning sandstone ridges that run north to south. On the eastern side, they have steep and rugged slopes, while on the west side, they have gentler slopes.
The Walk - 2 kilometres - 1 Hour - Easy
The walk starts from the Reeds Lookout carpark, which has beautiful views over Victoria Valley, Lake Wartook, Victoria Range, and the Serra Ranges. The wide dirt track gently meanders through the open forest, with a lovely selection of wildflowers along its edges.
As you wander along the track, you will see some fascinating rock formations and pass over a small bridge. There are several seats along the way where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the tranquillity.
When you arrive at The Balconies, there are two viewing platforms with great views across the valley, and on the left, you will see The Balconies. The Balconies have now been fenced off, and it is not advisable to climb out onto them for safety reasons.
