Tall Trees
This fantastic 1-kilometre loop walk is about the tallest flowering plants in the world, the swamp gums (Eucalyptus regnans).
Eucalyptus regnans, also known as mountain ash, swamp gum, or stringy gum, is a medium—to very-tall forest tree native to Tasmania and Victoria.
It is a straight-trunked tree with smooth grey bark and a stocking of rough brown bark at the base, glossy green, lance-shaped to curved adult leaves, flower buds in groups of between nine and fifteen, white flowers and cup-shaped or conical fruit, and it is the tallest of all flowering plants.
These trees can live for hundreds of years and grow over 100 metres in height.
