Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame ~ Longreach
The Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame is a tribute to the brave Australian stockmen whose tireless efforts and unyielding determination paved the way for the country's pastoral industry.
There are two ticket options; the first option is entry to the Museum and Gallery. The second option includes the Museum and Gallery, the live Stockman show, and the cinema experience. There is also a cafe, gift shop, toilets and outdoor eating area.
Check online with the venue or the Longreach Visitors Centre for opening and show times, as they vary throughout the year.
The state-of-the-art self-guided audio tour brings the Museum’s themed galleries and exhibits to life.
As you wander through the exhibits, you will learn about the harsh conditions the stockmen endured, the legendary cattle drives that tested their mettle, and the camaraderie that bound them together. From the sweat-stained saddles to the trusty stockwhips, every item on display echoes the resilience of these rugged bushmen.
The highlight of our visit was the Outback Stockman's Show, we were entertained by Lachie Cossor with stories and songs, and as the dust kicked up from the hooves of the skilled horses and the crack of the stockwhip filled the air, we witnessed firsthand the sheer skill and courage of a modern-day stockman.
The Cinematic Experience is a fully immersive 20-minute movie about the Australian Stockman shown on a 16-metre curved screen.
Tours include Sunset Dinner Cruises, Nogo Station, the Cobb & Co Stagecoach Experience, Historic Railway Tours and Trips to Winton.
