Split Rock Falls and Shower Cave Falls
3 Hours Return - 3 km - Grade 3
To get to Shower Cave Falls, you must take the Split Rock Track that starts at the Meander Falls car park. After a short walk, you will cross the river over a narrow suspension bridge. (note: only one person at a time on the bridge).
You then continue on the uphill track beneath mossy myrtles, towering tree ferns, scented sassafras and fantastic sandstone rock formations. The trail can be challenging to follow at times, and you will need to look for the metal triangles and pink ribbons in the trees to find the correct way.
At the top of the track, you will see the awesome Split Rock. Two large rocks with a tree growing between them and its twisted roots spreading out below.
*Note: Do not take the track up between Split Rock, as this will take you towards Meander Falls.
Instead, take the track to the left of Split Rock. This track passes under the impressive rock overhang and brings you to Shower Cave Falls. If there is a lot of rain, you will see another small waterfall before Shower Cave Falls, which is lovely and photogenic.
After Shower Cave Falls, you can continue on the uphill track, and you will discover Split Rock Falls.
