Murray Falls ~ Queensland.

Murray Falls

Murray Falls is located in the Girramay National Park between Cardwell and Tully in North Queensland.

In the scenic foothills of the Kirrama Range, the fresh, clear waters of the Murray River cascade over boulders into rock pools, creating a fabulous waterfall and several lovely cool, clear swimming areas.

A short walk will bring you to a viewing platform where you will get a great close-up view of Murray Falls and feel the spray as it falls to the rock pool below.

The Yalgay Ginja Bulumi walk is 1.8 kilometres return through open forest, shady rainforest, and several rocky areas. Still, it is well worth it, as once you reach the viewing platform, you can look down into Murray Falls and have a fantastic view of the area.

This walk begins halfway down the left side of the campground from the river boardwalk. The Murray Falls camping grounds are available, and picnic tables and toilets are available in this area.

Directions to Murray Falls

When travelling along the Bruce Highway, you will see Murray Falls signposted; it is 41 kilometres northwest of Cardwell or 36 kilometres southwest of Tully.

The last 2 kilometres of the track into the National Park is gravel and a little rough, so please drive to the conditions. Plenty of Parking is available in the park's day-use area, suitable for buses or Motorhomes.
