Mount Wellington / Kunanyi
Mount Wellington/Kunanyi lies in the southeast of Tasmania, and most of the Hobart region is located within the foothills of the Mountain. Mount Wellington/Kunanyi is 1,271 meters above sea level and is the tallest mountain in the Wellington Range.
Mt Wellington/Kunanyi and Wellington Park have a diverse range of environments to explore, from the temperate rainforest areas in the foothills with gently flowing creeks and hidden waterfalls to the sub-alpine flora and glacial rock formations that dominate the pinnacle of the mountain.

Mt Wellington/Kunanyi is open daily, weather-dependent, and free to enter. The Pinnacle has an indoor observation area and several viewing platforms, all offering spectacular views.
Things to do on Mt Wellington/Kunanyi
Bushwalking: There are great hikes from The Springs and The Pinnacle and several waterfalls to explore, including O'Grady Falls, Silver Falls, Myrtle Gully Falls, and Secret Falls on Mt Wellington/Kunanyi.
You can also bike ride, walk your dog, go 4WD, and rock climb.
Combine two sightseeing tours, with the Hobart Hop on Hop off the bus and the Mount Wellington Explorer bus tours.
How to drive to the pinnacle of Mt Wellington/Kunanyi from Hobart:
Take Davey Street (A6) westwards out of Hobart. Keep in the right lane and continue towards Fern Tree on Huon Road (B64). Continue up Huon Road (B64) towards Fern Tree and Mount Wellington Kunanyi.
Then, turn right into Pinnacle Road (C616), just before the township of Fern Tree (approximately 8 kilometres from Hobart). Continue a further 9 kilometres from the Springs until you reach the pinnacle.
The road to the pinnacle is steep, narrow and windy; please drive cautiously. Pinnacle Road may occasionally be closed due to snow or ice cover or during extreme fire danger.
