Mt Lofty Botanic Garden
The Mount Lofty Botanic Garden is 97 hectares of wonderful cool-climate gardens overlooking the picturesque Piccadilly Valley. Entry to the gardens is Free, and they are open every day of the year from 8.30 am.
Mount Lofty Botanic Garden is a stunning open garden on the eastern slopes of Mount Lofty, where you can discover plants from South America, China, East Africa, New Zealand, South East Asia and North America, as well as flora native to the Mount Lofty Ranges.
There are many walking trails through the gardens where you can enjoy the beauty and serenity of nature. You can even walk part of the iconic Heysen Trail, with one of the trail’s oldest sections passing through the Mount Lofty Botanic Garden.
We wandered along the Lakeside trail; this 1-kilometre flat and easy walk starts from the lower carpark and meanders around the lake. This trail is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers.
Along the Lakeside Trail, you will see unique sculptures – each one with an important environmental message.
Mount Lofty Botanic Garden Facilities
Toilets: 5 Locations around the gardens, including the top and bottom car park.
Paid parking on Monday to Saturday, free on Sundays and Public Holidays.
No bicycles, scooters or ball games are allowed in the gardens.
No dogs allowed.
No drones allowed.
