Lovely Lilydale Falls

Lilydale Falls

Lilydale Falls is a pair of waterfalls formed as the Second River cascades over rocks. They are located in the Lilydale Falls Reserve.

The first waterfall you encounter on the walk falls approximately ten metres into the rocky creek below. The second waterfall is slightly smaller, at approximately eight metres, and falls into a large waterhole.

The walk to the falls is lovely along the river and through the rainforest.

You start at the car park and follow the path under the bridge and along the river.

After approximately four hundred metres, you will reach a fork in the path. The lower path will bring you to the first falls viewing platform, from which you can also access the base of the falls, and the top path will take you to the second falls viewing platform.

Directions to Lilydale Falls

From Launceston, head North on the East Tamar Highway, then turn off at the University Way/ George Town Road.

Continue for approx. Three kilometres, then turn right onto Lilydale Road; follow this for 21 kilometres until you see the sign for Lilydale Falls Reserve on the right.
