Lady Barron Falls
Lady Barron Falls is a lovely waterfall in Mount Field National Park that cascades 8 meters down several tiers before gently flowing down the creek.
The viewing platform at the waterfall's base provides a beautiful view of the falls and is an excellent place to take photos.
This waterfall is awe-inspiring after good rainfall in the area.
The Lady Barron Falls Circuit is a great walk. Along the track, you will see Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls, and the Tall Trees Walk before reaching Lady Barron Falls.
The Circuit 6 kilometres - 2 hours - Grade 2
You start on the track to Russell Falls, which is directly behind the Mount Field National Park office. This first section is accessible along a well-maintained trail next to a lovely creek.
Once you have seen Russell Falls, you head up a steep, short climb to Horseshoe Falls, another breathtaking waterfall.
When you have enjoyed Horseshoe Falls, head back, cross over the bridge, and continue through the rainforest for another 1.5 kilometres.
You will arrive at the Tall Trees walk, an easy 1-kilometre circuit within the Lady Barron circuit. Giant swamp gums (Eucalyptus Regnans) are the tallest flowering plant on the planet.
Continue walking and cross Lake Dobson Road for a further 1 kilometre, and you will reach Lady Barron Falls.
The circuit continues back to the Visitor's Centre on an undulating trail with a steep staircase to be climbed midway.
This is an excellent walk, with three waterfalls to see, beautiful mossy rainforest and some of the tallest trees in the world.
