Josephine Falls ~ Queensland.

Josephine Falls

Josephine Falls is located in the heart of the Wooroonooran National Park. This enchanting waterfall is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

Josephine Falls is conveniently located just 75 kilometres south of Cairns, making it an ideal day trip for those staying in the bustling city. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours by car on a fully sealed road.

Upon arriving at the Josephine Falls carpark, there is a short 700-metre walk through the stunning rainforest to the waterfall and swimming hole.

Josephine Creek starts as a tiny creek high on the southeast side of the summit of Bartle Frere, the highest peak in Queensland. It then travels 7.5 kilometres down from the summit, where it becomes Josephine Falls, a multi-tiered cascade where the water flows over large granite boulders.

When you reach Josephine Falls, you will see several viewing platforms from which you can view and photograph the falls.

At the bottom viewing platform, you can access a large rock pool for swimming and the smooth, natural rock slide where you can enjoy the cool, crystal-clear green waters.

Facilities

There are Picnic Tables, Toilets and BBQs near the Carpark.

There is no phone reception at Josephine Falls.
