Ferntree Falls

Ferntree Falls is a lovely waterfall surrounded by lush ferns and mossy rocks in Mount Buangor State Park. A short 250-metre walk brings you to Ferntree Falls; if you continue walking, you will see three more waterfalls.

In Mount Buangor State Park, you can explore a variety of landscapes, including eucalypt forests, creek flats and waterfalls. From the peak of Mount Buangor, the highest in the area, you can experience spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

The Walk - 1.5 Kilometre Circuit - 45 Minutes - Moderate

This circuit walk starts from the Ferntree Picnic area, and you wander along a narrow track that meanders past giant tree ferns, Manna Gums, Messmate and Blue Gums. Two hundred fifty metres along the track, you will reach Ferntree Falls, a lovely small waterfall cascading down the mossy rocks, surrounded by lush ferns.

Continue along the track across bridges and up and down stairs on the Waterfalls Nature walk until you reach the sign to Cascade Falls. A 5-minute detour brings you to the falls flowing across a large granite rock face.

The track then continues through the forest, up and down some more stairs until you reach the third waterfall, another lovely small waterfall surrounded by lush tree ferns. Follow the circuit track back to the picnic area.

Notes:

Toilets, BBQ and Picnic tables.

Camping is allowed in the designated area.
