New Norfolk - Tasmania
New Norfolk is a bustling town on the River Derwent, with lovely cafes, old hotels, antique shops and many historic buildings. The Oldest Anglican Church in Australia, St Matthews, was built in 1823 and is located opposite the beautiful Arthurs Square Park.
The town also has the Bush Inn, one of the oldest continuously licensed pubs in Australia. New Norfolk is located 38 kilometres North West of Hobart.
You can wander the Derwent Cliffs track, a 2.2 kilometre walk along the Derwent River. Enjoy a delicious Devonshire tea in the lovely gardens at the Glen Derwent Heritage Retreat.
From the Pulpit Rock lookout there are stunning views over New Norfolk, the Derwent River and surrounding farmlands.
