Murtoa - Victoria
Murtoa is a small farming town on the edge of Lake Marma in the Wimmera region of Victoria. It has several cafes, hotels, a supermarket and many buildings of historical significance throughout the town.
Murtoa is located 295 kilometres northwest of Melbourne. You can take a self-guided tour of the heritage-listed Stick Shed, the only remaining emergency grain store built during World War 2.
Lake Marma is a popular spot for camping, fishing, walking and boating.
Visit the museum precinct, which includes the Water Tower museum, Concordia cottage and the restored Railway Station.
Wander around town and see the 19th-century heritage buildings including the Marma Gully Hotel, Dr Rabl's house and Thomas Flour Mill.
