Kaniva - Victoria
Kaniva is a thriving small town in the Mallee-Wimmera region. It is Victoria's first and last highway town, with wide streets, windmills, cafes, hotels and unique outdoor art.
Kaniva is part of the Silo Art Trail and is 419 kilometres northwest of Melbourne. The Kaniva Silo features the Australian Hobby bird and two sun orchids; this artwork is a tribute to the nearby Little Desert National Park.
Wander along the Sheep Art Trail from the Silos to the Wetlands and Fauna Park. You can see more than 50 brightly coloured sheep, each with a unique name and a QR code with information.
See the large selection of puppets, toys and puzzles at the Kaniva Puppet Shop; you can also view the marionette collection and enjoy a puppet show.
The Wetlands and Fauna Park has a bird aviary and wildlife park, playgrounds, barbecues, and picnic areas. Wander along the walking path, which has informative signs about the area.
