Goolwa - South Australia
Goolwa is a historic river port and charming tourist town 82 kilometres south of Adelaide. It’s a popular holiday destination with cafes, bakeries, restaurants, and several art galleries to browse in. It is also home to the historic Cockle Train, that travels from Goolwa to Victor Harbor.
You can ride the Cockle train to Victor Harbor and travel along the oldest steel railway in Australia, which dates back to 1854.
Wander along the Goolwa Wharf and learn about the early history of the area, or cruise on the Spirit of the Coorong along the Murray River to see the Murray Mouth and onto the Coorong.
You can also view where the Murray River meets the ocean at the Murray Mouth Lookout on Hindmarsh Island.
