Beachport - South Australia
Beachport is a lovely coastal town on Rivoli Bay, 390 kilometres south of Adelaide. It’s a popular holiday destination with a beautiful foreshore, historic buildings and stunning beaches. The Beachport jetty is 772 metres long and is the second-longest jetty in South Australia.
In the town centre are several cafes, a bakery, a general store, a hotel and the Cray Pot, where you can buy rock lobster in season.
A short walk through the sand dunes will bring you to the Cape Martin Lighthouse, with beautiful views over the coast.
Drive along the Bowman Scenic Drive and see more of the stunning rugged coastline from one of the many lookouts.
You can swim at the Pool of Siloam; this lake is seven times saltier than the sea, making the water extremely buoyant.
You can wander over the bridges at the lagoon and see some interesting sculptures.
A short drive from Beachport, you can explore the Canundra National Park and wander along the Cape Buffon track.
Canunda National Park
The Canunda National park has a sensational coastline of rugged cliffs and long stretches of sandy beaches. It is a great place to go bushwalking, surfing, snorkelling, swimming or fishing. Along the Cape Buffon walk, you will see limestone cliffs, sea stacks and off-shore reefs.
