Ellinjaa Falls

Updated: May 2, 2024

Ellinjaa Falls ~ Queensland.

Ellinjaa Falls

Ellinjaa Falls is a fantastic waterfall in the Wooroonooran National Park and forms part of the Waterfall Circuit with Millaa Millaa Falls and Zillie Falls.

It is located in the Atherton Tablelands, approximately 104 kilometres from Cairns, and is well signposted along the Waterfall Circuit.

From the carpark, wander down the short and easy 200-metre paved path to the base of the falls.

At Ellinjaa Falls, the cool, crystal-clear water cascades over a series of 12-metre-high lava columns into a shallow rock pool below.

The lush green rainforest and the shallow pristine water hole make Ellinjaa Falls an ideal spot for a refreshing dip. There is also a small ledge behind the waterfall where you can sit and enjoy the water cascading over you.

Ellinjaa Falls is also home to the platypus, and if you approach quietly, you may see one under the falls or in the river.
