Crystal Cascades
Crystal Cascades is a series of small waterfalls that flow along Freshwater Creek. The waterfalls form fascinating rock pools surrounded by large granite boulders, which are refreshingly cool even in the hot summer months.
It is situated in a shady rainforest in the Baron Gorge National Park, only 17.5 kilometres from Cairns.
There is a 1.2-kilometre well-maintained walking track from the carpark to Crystal Cascades; along the way, you will see several viewing platforms and access points to enter the river.
Once you reach the waterfalls at Crystal Cascades, you can climb down onto the rocks and swim in this beautiful freshwater swimming hole. The water continuously flows down the mountains, which is cool and refreshing.
Access to Crystal Cascades is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please be careful and obey all signage.
