Champagne Falls

Champagne Falls and Bridal Veil Falls are accessed from the Lemonthyme Lodge Wilderness Retreat near Moina, Tasmania. Champagne Falls is a beautiful single-drop waterfall cascading 15 metres down the rock face and into Bulls Creek.

Walking Track 6 Kilometre Circuit - 2 Hours - Grade 3

Register your walk with the lovely staff at Lemonthyme Lodge Wilderness Retreat. The restaurant serves good coffee. A self-guided walk brochure also introduces you to several interesting facts about the surrounding environment.

The tracks start along an old 4WD road, and you follow this for 1.5 kilometres uphill; it is easy to navigate but pretty steep.

Along this track, you will see a wooden signpost to Champagne Falls on the right of the track. The trail down to Champagne Falls is narrow and descends steeply for approximately 200 metres to the waterfall's base.

After you have seen Champagne Falls, take a backtrack about halfway up the steep, narrow path. You will see a sign pointing you towards Bridal Veil Falls, which is further upstream on Bull Creek.

I highly recommend seeing both waterfalls. They are beautiful, and we enjoyed the walk along the circuit track. Alternatively, if you only want to see Champagne Falls, retrace your steps down the trail to Lemonthyme Lodge Wilderness Retreat.

To go to Bridal Veil Falls - continue on the narrow path through the beautiful rainforest, and you will come to a bridge to cross over the creek.

The track continues along the banks of Bull Creek for approximately another kilometre; it is a narrow undulating track but a beautiful walk, with several small cascades along the way.

.

You then reach Bridal Veil Falls, and a bridge across the creek gives you a fantastic spot to take photos and enjoy the beautiful waterfall.

Track to view behind the falls—continue walking on the path (before the bridge) towards Bridal Veil Falls, and you will see an area behind the waterfall.

When you have finished at Bridal Veil Falls, continue over the bridge and up the hill for approximately 50 metres. You will be back on the 4WD track, which you can follow all the way downhill back to Lemonthyme Lodge Wilderness Retreat.

The track can also become very muddy and slippery in parts after rain.
