Cape Buffon

Updated: May 2

Cape Buffon

Cape Buffon is in the Canunda National Park in South Australia. Along the Cape Buffon walking track, you will see how the wind and waves have shaped the limestone cliffs and sea stacks.

Along the walk, you will see the spectacular rugged coastline, sea stacks and lovely sandy beaches. There are several lookouts and seats along the track to stop and admire the views.

The Walk - 2.5 Kilometre Circuit - 1 Hour - Easy

We parked near the jetty at Southend and started the walk from the jetty lookout; you could also start at Rainbow Rocks carpark or the Cape Buffon carpark.

The track is well-marked and easy to follow. However, several parts of it are close to the cliff edges, so care should be taken here.

This walk highlights how wind and waves have shaped the limestone cliffs, sea stacks and reef platforms. Various plant species can be seen, including colourful wildflowers and native grasses.
